A new procedure was introduced in Hungarian stroke care.
Software operating with artificial intelligence immediately evaluates the findings of a CT scan of the skull of people admitted with a suspected stroke thanks to a Hungarian program implemented with EU support. A new procedure, which has not yet been widespread in Hungarian public care, has been established within the framework of the tender entitled “Development of a central decision support system based on artificial intelligence for the development of the domestic acute stroke care system” under the leadership of the National Institute of Mental, Neurological and Neurosurgery (OMIII). The innovative development accelerates the urgent treatment of acute stroke patients and supports the improvement of access to care nationwide. According to OMIII, the project will be implemented within the framework of the Széchenyi 2020 program with the help of a non-refundable EU grant of HUF 1.286 billion.
