Adding bookmarks (also known as bookmarks) helps you navigate to specific websites in Google Chrome. For example, think of your timetable or grade website site or just Netflix or

YouTube. Bookmarking your most used websites can save you a lot of time.

It goes like this:

  1. Install Google Chrome;

    This step-by-step plan shows you how to add bookmarks in Google Chrome. Don’t have Chrome, but want bookmarks? Then install the browser at google.nl/chrome/.

  2. Open Google Chrome and go to the website you want to save;

    This can be any website, but remember that on websites that require a login, you will not enter without a login after creating your bookmark.

  3. Click the star in the top right of the search bar;

    A pop-up will appear that allows you to add the website to your so-called bookmark bar.

  4. Select where to place your bookmark;

    In the pop-up you have the option to give your website a name and you can easily choose where it will be placed. By clicking on ‘Choose another folder…’ under ‘Folder’, you will get to the folder overview. Here you can add folders to make your bookmark bar more organized.

  5. Click Click on ‘Done’ and open a new tab.

    You should see at the top of the screen bookmark bar containing the bookmark you just created. With one simple button you are now on the set website.

Enable bookmark bar and change bookmarks

Don’t you see a bookmark bar when you open a new tab? Then you have to enable it first. You do this by going to the top right Google Chrome clicking on the three dots.

Click on ‘Settings’ and go to ‘Appearance’ in the menu on the left. In this menu you can easily enable the option ‘View bookmark bar’. You will then see the bookmark bar automatically appear on the screen.

Would you like to change or delete your bookmarks? Then right click on the bookmark bar. Here you will find all kinds of options for your bookmarks. By clicking on ‘bookmark manager’ you will get an overview of all your folders and bookmarks. Here you can delete, rename or rearrange them.
